Project: Highland Manor
City, State: Birmingham, AL
Market Sector: High-Rise
Property management company, Hollyhand Realty, Inc. called on Window City to complete a total window replacement at their 14-story high-rise, Highland Manor. Home to over 200 families in the Birmingham, Ala. area, Window City successfully replaced more than 250 windows on the building in less than three months time.
Each existing window was replaced with a state-of-the-art Crystal Series 2000, 5100 and 2300 Commercial Rated Window. All energy efficient with Lo-E insulated glass and Argon gas for maximum energy savings. To complete the updated look, Window City went with a contemporary Bronze powder coat finish, leaving it looking fresh and new.
Why must there be Argon gas between the two pieces of glass in these replacement windows? As more and more historical buildings are investing in energy-efficient replacement windows, a trend is beginning to take place with most windows being filled with gas. Argon, the most common gas filler, is an inexpensive, non-toxic, odorless gas that is used on most replacement windows to prevent frost from occurring at the bottom of the window and at the same time will increase sound proofing characteristics of the window. With these benefits, residents at Highland Manor will have less distractions from outside noise as well as increased interior comfort.
Window City offers their service department to Highland Manor for any potential problems like broken glass and weather destruction in the future.
